1. When will my DJ arrive at my event?
We like to be early. We will arrive an hour and a half before your event to ensure the setup is complete and make sure there are no unforeseen complications.
2. Do you have a backup system?
Yes, we always have a back-up system on hand that includes our music and a second PA/sound system.
3. Are you insured?
Yes, we are covered with a two million-dollar, liability insurance policy that covers all your guests, the venue and us.
4. Will the DJ coordinate with my wedding planner or the events manager?
Yes, in most cases the DJ will coordinate the timeline of the reception. We will work with the events manager, photographer and caterer to help ensure that your reception runs as smoothly as possible. We will go over the timeline before your wedding.
5. What will my DJ wear?
The DJ will wear a dark suit and tie or a tuxedo for a black-tie affair.
6. How would you describe your style?
Our style is professional and versatile. We believe your guests are there to have a good time and not listen to the DJ on the microphone all night. We want to do everything in our power to make it the best day ever for you and your guests.
7. How do you customize the song list for each couple? Can you help with song lists and offer suggestions?
Absolutely! We will create a soundtrack that is based on your taste, style and vision for the day after meeting with you. We will also collect a must-play list and do not play list from you.
8. How do you handle song requests?
Song requests are up to you. We can take as many or as little requests as you want. You can also ask us not to take requests. We suggest you enlist a bridesmaid or groomsman to screen requests so that the DJ does not have to bother the new bride and groom.
9. Pricing and Payment?
There are no hidden fees in our pricing. You will be provided a contract that gives spells out all the necessary information. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. We accept cash, checks and credit cards through PayPal. The remainder of the balance is due seven days before your wedding.
10. How did name “Big Island Productions” come about?
We are a DJ company with a little Hawaiian influence. My wife and I have been traveling to Hawaii for over 16 years. We now travel with our two young daughters there every year. If you are thinking of Hawaii for your honeymoon, we would love to help. We can advise and plan the entire trip for you!
